Flat Roofs

Installing or repairing flat roofs demands a slightly different skill set to pitched roofing. As a result, not all general roofers are able to competently tackle a flat roof. At EC Roofing, we have flat roof specialists who are extremely experienced in this field and have been providing a quality and professional service for many years.

Flat roofs or low pitched roofs generally have a limited life span. They are notorious for leaks and degradation over time, especially in extreme weather conditions. Depending on the severity of the damage, there are two main solutions to the problem:

Small leaks or damage: A simple patch repair is the most common solution..
More serious damage: It’s usually necessary to remove the entire flat roof covering as well as the timber decking. From here, we then carry out the new installation as required.

EPDM Flat roofing

EPDM is an extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) widely used in low-slope buildings worldwide. Its two primary ingredients, ethylene and propylene, are derived from oil and natural gas. EPDM is available in both black and white, and is sold in a broad variety of widths, ranging from 7.5 feet to fifty feet, and in two thicknesses, 45 and 60 mils. EPDM can be installed either fully adhered, mechanically attached or ballasted, with the seams of the roofing system sealed with liquid adhesives or specially formulated tape.
